I am Jamie, welcome to my blog.

I’m 26 with a 6 year marriage under my belt (I got married as a fetus. DO NOT get married as a fetus. It HAPPENED to work and we consider ourselves really lucky considering I didn’t know that Mike SHOULD BE IN PRISON with his sex drive and that he had to learn about my low-blood-sugar-metamorphosis the hard way. The REALLY hard way). I could possibly be one of the last virgin brides on record, we live in Boise Idaho where snakes and earwigs often join us in our slumber and we drive Blue Steel, the hottest minivan to roam the streets of B-town.

I write on this blog about how we are adopting from Ethiopia. And we couldn’t be more excited. We are adopting not one, but two children at the same time. A sibling set. You can read about our failed Domestic adoption and our thoughts on the matter here and here. Adoption is a frequent topic here, the ethics and whatnot are always weighing on my mind. Your insights are always welcome. We are using Wide Horizons for Children and have been officially on the waiting list since 6-21-07 requesting siblings, either gender, under 3 years old.

I write on this blog about a Refugee family (whom we lovingly refer to as the Fugees) that we mentor from Africa and how they have to be taught that you can’t just pee outside in America. You can read about the Fugee Family here. They are a good time.

I write about how my husband was deployed for 1 year and 7 months to Iraq and how it REALLY was crappy. You can read about that here. We aren’t your typical military family considering we vote Democrat on most issues, support gay rights, believe Al Gore and don‘t think we should be in the Middle East. We still believe in America though.

I write about my kid and how sometimes I think I am the best parent and sometimes I know I am the worst. I write about my cute husband and how he is really cute. This, for example, is a good one of him.

The Hubz and I were both raised Mormon and were married in the Mormon Temple. We don’t practice Mormonism anymore and I don’t like to talk about religion on the blawg. It’s too personal and people get defensive and then I end up not liking them anymore and I want to remain liking most people in general.
