Since several of you have emailed and asked what the latest is with our adoption, I figured that must mean that pretty much EVERYONE out there is probably curious as well. All twelve of you that read this site. I assume things like that about you guys.
Well, we’re still waiting for our referral. (Referral: moment in which your adoption agency calls and says, “Are you ready to meet your kids?” and you FREAK out and FREAK out some more and continue FREAKING out as you open an email containing pictures, histories and medical reports on these beautiful and sad little children).
But, we have been officially waiting for 3 months exactly now, which means that we should be half way to the freaking out moment. After the freak out, you - you guessed it - wait some more. Usually another 2-3 months and then you’re off on a jet plane to Ethiopia to hold them in your arms.
And, there we are. About half way of the half way mark. So, do the half of the halfway dance.
One of these days, I promise to do a real live post involving my feelings on adoption. I do have those, feelings, you know.

What do you mean you have feelings, you know?! Humorists don’t have feelings?
Fine, you have feelings. I hate conceding.

half-way to the half-way mark is so much quicker than a quarter of the way to the qaurter mark! I can’t wait to see those babies!

Have to tell ya… I thought I would freak out, but I was crying so hard I couldn’t hear a damn word she said. I told her I needed a moment… I then opened the e-mail and stared at this beautiful face.. cry some more… call hubby …ect.
I hope you have a happy scream freak out. Lots more exciting.
It will happen so soon! We got ours dec 19th last year, lets see if yours is around there.

I guarantee you that the moment you meet your child(ren) on the computer screen, you will be head over heels, every bit as exciting as that positive sign on the pee stick but much more fun to look at… Congratulations on the 1/2 and 1/2…

Well, I guess it’s now 13 who read your blog! Hey, at least all the stuff you have control over is done(dossier) but, if you’re anything like me, that was the best part. Since I had control over it.

How Crazy. We just hit our 3 months mark on the 19th. It will great to freak out together. And you absolutely correct it is totally a freak out moment. I remember the last one too well. But it is awesome!!

Yep, you really freak out — especially when you are totally not expecting it. We got our call 2 weeks ago on 9/10, and I was shaking and crying and kept repeating, “I don’t know what to say!” to our adoption coordinator. It was soooo out of the blue.
So, now we are prepping for our 3 y.o. daughter and 14 m.o. son. I still can’t believe it.
Get ready — you never know when that call might come!
