It’s come to this

Since discovering this phenomenon that is blogging, I have basically been shut in my home office with no sunlight and the same underwear for 3 days. My marriage is suffering. My work is suffering. The pores on my face are suffering. But mostly my poor, sweet only child is suffering. Today (day 3 since discovering blogs) I found her pretend playing in the living room with two pictures of her cousins. She had resorted to playing with PICTURES of humans since she had obviously given up hope and accepted the sad state of affairs that was her mother at the time. It was quite possibly the saddest thing I had ever seen and was, at that moment, my intervention.

I started remembering what felt like minutes ago but was actually days ago when she had asked me to wash her a clean spoon and flashes of memory came back of her turning on the room light at 2:00 and me hissing while shielding my bloodshot eyes. So it was true then. It was possible. I admit defeat. I am weak and my husband is now able to occasionally play video games without my utter self righteous discust permeating in his general direction. The debate is over and I lose.

  1. Yeah, you gotta watch it– blog-reading is addicting! :)

Thanks for commenting over at my place!!

  2. ROFL! Okay, that is the funniest thing I have read in a long time–probably because I identify! LOL! Want a tip? Google Reader!!! It saves TONS of time. Don’t have to go to each blog to read anymore–you just check your Google Reader and see if any of the blogs you read have a new post. =-)

  5. Bwahahaaaaa! Evil laughter. And another succombs. ;-) It gets better when the novelty wears off.

I love my Bloglines (probably the same as Google Reader?) for keeping track of blogs I like. It lets you know when there are new posts on a blog, and you can prioritize the ones you want to read right away and save the rest for later. And you mark the blogs public or private, and you can put HTML in your blog template so that the public ones show up as your blogroll in your blog sidebar.

No, I don’t work for bloglines. I just really like them! :-)

  6. Thanks Donna and Dcrmom,

The novelty it starting to wear off but I still have to attend meetings now, as advised by health and welfare child protective services.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  7. I get to reading blogs and I look at the clock and I am shocked at how long I have been sitting there!! My 3 year old has watched about 3 shows on TV without making a peep. I have found Bloglines which helps a ton with the amount of time I spend. I enjoyed reading about scary lady!! ha ha
